Winaukee is known for the maturity, quality and the caring attitude of it's counselors. We are proud t hat many of our staff return year after year. Our veteran Winaukee administrators, many of whom are teachers and professional coaches, also serve as our group leaders and activity heads. The balance of our counselors come from such prestigious colleges as Notre Dame, University of North Carolina, University of Wisconsin, Duke and Indiana University. All of our staff have at least one year's college experience and are selected entirely on the basis of their ability to effectively relate to children, and as teaching specialists in their respective fields. Winaukee has no counselors in training, general or junior counselors on staff.

The entire counselor staff, both new and old, attend a week-long orientation before the beginning of camp. This is a time when cabin counselors become familiar with their camper's hobbies and interests, valuable information that is retained for a camper's period at Winaukee. During orientation, activity heads take the opportunity to develop a course of consistent teaching methods within their staff. During the summer, our activity heads meet daily to review the progress and any special needs each individual camper may have. These same staff members make a point to meet with their new campers throughout the first day to help personalize each boy's program to their needs and wishes. Winauakee's medical staff consists of a full time doctor and three registered nurses, all of whom reside of the campus for the entire camp season.

A bond that binds the entire Winaukee staff is an unrelenting commitment to help each boy enjoy every day of his summer at camp, and belief in the core philosophy set forth on the six branches of the Winaukee "Tree of Values":

Enthusiasm, Loyalty, Sportsmanship,
Friendship, Achievement and Cooperation.
